Don't Look Down
Guess what was released today? An epic still from Divergent! I hope you don't mind heights and rooftops...
These pictures are getting me excited for the movie. I read Divergent about a year ago and have a very bad memory of things I haven't read in awhile. Personally, and I know I'm going to get a thousand "What? You're crazy!"s right now, but I didn't think the book was that special. I mean, I can' even remember what happened in it. I know Rachel read it, but she can't even remember reading it. There's no way this can be the next Hunger Games because it's not memorable enough. Now, I liked it, but I don't understand the hype over this book. It's just another dystopian, a genre that has become the new vampires for me. It's getting over done. Where's the originality these days?

2nd Blog?
I just discovered this cool, new social media site for book lovers. It's called Booklikes. I describe it as a Goodreads + Blogger but with a bit cooler features, or at least I think so because I have yet to figure out how everything works.
All of the members have blogs where they can post reviews and add books to their shelves just like on Goodreads. Much like Tumblr, I think (I'm a neophyte when it comes to social media besides Twitter and Instagram), you can reblog something cool.
This website is pretty new, coming out in 2012 I believe. Honestly, I think this could really be the next big thing for us bibliophiles. The only drawback I've found so far is that it doesn't give you recommendations like Goodreads, but how accurate are their recommendations anyway. What's important is connecting with other readers and sharing books.
I didn't realize it until now, but starting a new blog is going to take a lot of work. Just adding all of my books to the shelves will take hours and hours. And adding reviews? This is going to be a nightmare if I go through with it. But I genuinely think that this could catch on. I might even tell my friend Dani not to make a Goodreads, but instead make one of these bad boys.
Not that I have much on it right now beacuse I'm still debating if I build up my blog on Booklike or not, but my username is Lisleslivres. Surprised by that?

Book Haul
So, a week ago I went to a book sale at my local library. You can read about that craziness here.
So what did I pick up? Well, I'm not a fan of softcovers and that was pretty much all that was there for YA. However, I got some books in French! Now that may not seem very interesting, but you don't know how hard it is to find books in French. I've looked on the Canadian site of Amazon and books are so expensive. And paperback!! When I went to France, I got all of the Percy Jackson's and Hunger Games. There was not a single hardback. I thought it was bizarre.
Anyway, I got a new, not really, French-English dictionary(boring), Napoleon's autobiography, a giant book on the history of the French Revolution, and a book on the words of Tao. The book on the French Rev is filled with neat pictures, and the Tao one has beautiful Asian drawings and really smooth paper! You know you love feeling it too!
All of these books are written in French, so I will probably never read them knowing me, but they're nice just to have in case I want to practice and show up all of my classmates in French class! But how cool is it just to have books on your shelf that are written in another language?
And you book sniffers would enjoy their scent.
@liz_norris I got some books from a library sale and they are from the 50s and 60s. You'd love the way they smell :p

Hey, Gus!: TFiOS Casting Update
Just announced that Ansel Elgort accepted the role of August of The Fault in Our Stars!
Here's what some of the crew had to say about it:
Here's what some of the crew had to say about it:
John Green (author):“Ansel is whip-smart and uber-charismatic and everything I dreamed for Augustus Waters. I am by nature a cautious pessimist, but I’ll just say it: Now that we have Shailene and Ansel, I am completely, unreservedly psyched about this movie.”
Josh Boone (director): “Ansel Elgort is the epitome of the boy John Green brought to life so vividly in his novel and he truly embodies the character traits we admire so much about Gus. His humor, sensitivity, honesty and confidence floored us. Watching him with Shailene was like seeing the film for the first time. Hearing then say okay to each other was incredibly moving. We couldn't be more thrilled to have found our Gus.”
Wyck Godfrey (producer): ”We were all swept away by the humor, charm, and aching vulnerability Ansel brought to his portrayal of Gus. His performance completely annihilated our concerns about his playing Caleb in Divergent with Shailene, and we are confident that the fans of Fault will fall in love with him the same way that Hazel does–slowly, and then all at once.”
My thoughts: I really know nothing about this guy except that he will be playing Caleb in Divergent. If John Green says that he is the man for the job, he must be. And he has some nice shirtless pictures online, so I like him already. Haha.
How weird will it being first seeing him and Shailene as brother and sister and then as lovers? Obviously, they have great chemistry together and are professional about their work, so I'm confident about these two movies!
What do you think about this casting?

On this blog, there are guest bloggers very, very rarely. It's mainly just me, but I finally got to experience being a guest blogger today! And by the way, my friend Danielle may be writing a few posts in the near future, so look out for that.
It was interesting and I feel kinda special guest blogging, so make me feel better and go read my post.
It's about fun times in Paris in order to promote Page Morgan's The Beautiful and the Cursed. While you're there, go enter for signed hardcovers and swag!
